Kelly Quy, Director
Kelly began dancing at the age of four. Throughout her dance career she has competed in various regional and national dance competitions including Tremaine and West Coast Dance Explosion. She danced on the Seaman High School dance team and the Washburn University dance team. While dancing for Washburn, she competed at the NDA Collegiate Dance Nationals and was part of the 2000 team that took home a 10th place title. Kelly has also danced on the dance teams for the Topeka Knights and the Kansas City Wizards.

Kelly studied physical education in college. Throughout her college training, she was able to work with students of all ages throughout the Topeka area. She did her student teaching at Hayden High School and St. Matthews Grade School. In May of 2003, Kelly graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelor of Education degree in Physical Education.

In 1996, Kelly began teaching dance at the Dance Factory. As a teacher, she displayed her talent for teaching jazz, tap and ballet to children of all ages.

After graduating from Washburn, she became the Nationals director and choreographer for the Washburn University Dancing Blues. Each year she takes a group of girls to Daytona Beach, Florida to compete in the NDA Collegiate National Finals. In 2002, the dance team took home a 7th place national title.

For four years, Kelly was the dance coach for the Topeka West Westsiders dance team. The Westsiders performed at all home football and basketball games and attended one competition per year. While coaching the Westsiders, they received several awards at camp and competition.

For three years, Kelly has coached the Koyote Girls dance team. These dancers performed at all home Koyote Indoor Football games. Her goal was to improve the team year to year… she loved working with the talented and dedicated college level dancers.

In the spring of 2011, Kelly was selected to be a member of the Point B Dance Company (AIM). She spent the semester attending classes and rehearsals and performed in the carnival at the end of the semester. It was an inspirational experience for her to be on the dancer side instead of the teacher side for a change!

Realizing her passion for teaching dance, Kelly decided to open a studio in North Topeka. She wants to share her passion with everyone who comes into Fuzion. She wants to create a place where dancers can come to dance, compete, learn, make friends and create wonderful lifelong memories.

2011 is the beginning of the seventh year of Fuzion. There has been loads of improvement within the faculty and the dancers. Kelly is so proud of Fuzion dancers, teachers and parents. We have come a long way… and this is only the beginning!!
