Showtoppers - Competition Program
5th Grade - High School (4th Grade optional)
Class Choices: Tap/Ballet/Jazz Combo
Class Description: These classes are intermediate to advanced level ballet, tap and jazz classes for 4th grade to high school dancers. Dancers will learn intermediate to advanced ballet, tap and jazz moves. Dancers will dance with other dancers in their grade*. Showstopper classes meet two times per week - one night for 3 hours and one night for 2 1/4 hours.
*Students New To Fuzion: Dancers new to Fuzion who are interested in enrolling in the Showstoppers Program must be evaluated before being placed in a class. Please contact Fuzion at 785-232-4352 to set up your evaluation time. The Fuzion faculty cannot guarantee that new dancers will be placed in the Showstoppers Program.
Performance Requirements: Showstoppers will learn two dances and participate in a competition dress rehearsal, compete in two regional competitions and participate in the spring recitals.
Workshop Requirements: Showstoppers are required to attend one regional dance workshop. They will compete at this workshop.
Tuition: $136 per month
Class Uniform: Dancers are required to wear appropriate dancewear to class each week.
Tap & Jazz Dancewear: Any leotard/dancewear and tight. NO BAGGY CLOTHES.
Ballet Dancewear: Black leotard and pink tights. Ballet skirts and leg warmers are optional.
Ballet Shoes: Bloch SO205 (pink ballet shoes)
Tap Shoes: Bloch SO301 (black tie tap shoes)
Jazz Shoes: Blach SO401 (tan jazz shoes)
Please purchase/order dancewear, tights and shoes as soon as possible. Dancewear, tights and shoes can be
purchased from Fuzion Underground (located at the front of the studio) or at Footlights on 21st and Fairlawn.

*Jazz Rehearsal and Jazz Class will be split into two classes the first week of classes.
High School:

Wednesday 7:15-8:45 - Jazz Class

Competition Information
Competition/Recital Costume Fees: Showstoppers will be required to purchase two costumes (jazz and tap). These dancers will do their competition dances in the recitals, so they will not have to purchase additional recital costumes.
Costume prices are $150 per costume and are non-refundable.
Workshop Requirements & Fees: All Xcel dancers are required to attend one dance workshop. Once the workshop schedules come out, dancers/parents will be given dates and location. All parents of Showstopper dancers will be responsible for making travel arrangements to the workshop. Most workshops start on a Saturday morning and run through Sunday afternoon. The dancers will compete at the workshops; and MUST attend all workshop classes. More information about workshops will be sent out once the schedules are posted.
Workshop fees are $250 per dancer and are non-refundable
Competition Requirements & Entry Fees: All Showstoppers are required to compete in two regional competitions. As soon as the competition schedules are posted, Fuzion will announce the dates and locations of the competitions. Each dancer must pay an entry fee for each of the dances they will perform at competition.
Entry fees for group dance are $50 per dance per competition and are non-refundable
Dress Rehearsal Fees: Dancers enrolling in the Showstoppers program are required to pay a $25 dress rehearsal fee. The competition dress rehearsal date and location will be determined early in the school year.
Other Possible Competition Purchase Requirements
Competition Shoes, Make-up & Jewelry: All dancers are required to wear the same shoes, make-up and jewelry for competition. A letter will be sent out to parents early in the dance season explaining what accessories dancers will need to have for competition. All accessories must be purchased at Fuzion Underground.
Shoes: Dancers may need to purchase additional shoes for competition dances. Some competition dances will
require shoes other than the regular class shoes.
MaryKay Make-up: Dancers will need to purchase "show make-up" for competition. We use MaryKay products which
can be purchased through Fuzion Underground or through your own MaryKay consultant.
Jewelry: Dancers may be required to wear rhinestone earrings or a rhinestone choker to go with their competition
costume. Competition jewelry is re-used from year to year, so once you have purchased an item you will not need to
replace it unless you lose or break it.
