Hip Hop is a dance style that has evolved from hip hop culture and is generally danced to hip hop music. There are many different styles within hip hop dance such as popping, locking, breaking and krump - just to name a few. This hour long class will begin with a basic warm up that will focus on foundational elements of hip hop such as isolations, popping, musicality and footwork as well as dynamic stretching. Next, dancers will continue to work on their technical skill set in center as well as moving across the floor.
Class will conclude with a short combo that will encourage quick choreography retention as well as give dancers the opportunity to apply their hip hop technique to choreography. During class, there will be opportunities for dancers to freestyle which will allow them the freedom to express themselves through their own movement, find their own style, as well as utilize and experiment with foundations they learn in class.
